Brother Of Former TNA Exec Talks Company's Problems

0
0
Former WWE Head Trainer Tom Prichard recently chimed in on his blog about TNA's problems before his brother Bruce Prichard ever worked there and his own dealings with the company.

"First of all, I never worked for TNA. That was my brother Bruce. I don't care what happens to TNA," Prichard wrote on July 22. "It was evident long before Bruce ever got there that their problems were (are) deep. Maybe TNA should start at the top (the very top) and look at what the real issues are."

"Hiring and firing people is all well and good if it produces the desired changes and makes the company more successful. I can't speak about what's going on behind the scenes and I never discussed that with Bruce or anyone else at TNA," Prichard said.

"I can tell you I got a call last July with an offer to help with the developmental system in OVW. As seems to be the case with TNA, lack of follow up and professionalism was indeed the case as I didn't go to Louisville," Prichard said. "Why? Never got a straight answer or courtesy call explaining why a representative of the company called and initiated talks about going to OVW as a trainer, ask what I would want to go and then promise an answer 'by Monday.' Monday has yet to come…"

"It's a shame when a talented roster can't get a straight answer or get paid on time. Who's to blame? All I know is if no one can get a straight answer at WWE they go to Vince McMahon. At this time, Vince has the last word and accepts responsibility," Prichard said. "Did Bruce screw up or make bad decisions? Don't know. I wasn't there. But I do know enough people in TNA who enlightened me on the dealings they've had with upper management (long before Bruce ever entered the picture) and the song remains the same…"

Low Morale Among TNA Talents, TNA Lowballing Them

0
0
Pro Wrestling Report on My 24 Milwaukee recently claimed there's low morale among TNA talents and the company's engaging in lowball contract negotiations.

Co-host David Herro said during the July 20 show that talents don't trust the executive vice president and don't know what road agents are doing because they themselves don't know their job titles anymore. Herro said TNA offered talents new contracts, but once they accepted the new contracts, the terms were changed or the talents were released. After Taeler Hendrix was released, she claims she asked to be let go. But Herro says Hendrix, as well as D-Lo Brown, were lowballed.

While TNA is releasing talents to cut costs, the company still has people on payroll who don't even do anything such as founder Jeff Jarrett, Herro said. While this is going on in TNA, the biggest fear and concern for active employees right now is that someone is going to come into the company and replace them, he said.

Herro also talked about how TNA talents once had to stay at a Peoria, Illinois casino near where they worked a live event because they got a great discount rate. President Dixie Carter stayed elsewhere.

You can watch the show in question in the two videos below.

Reasons Why Jesse Sorensen Was Released From TNA

0

Jesse Sorensen was released from TNA on July 23 as another cost cutting measure and to make a point.

Word is TNA felt Sorensen was being paid a salary much higher than anyone else who works as a production assistant. Though TNA feels releasing Sorensen will be seen as bad move, it reinforces the perception that they will cut anyone at anytime no matter who it is.

Sorensen was working for TNA behind the scenes while he recovered from a severe neck injury he sustained while wrestling for the company in 2012.

TNA Stars Frustrated With Cuts, Communication Suffers

TNA talents are frustrated with management and this has affected communication between both sides.

Word is the TNA locker room feels they're working hard and doing what they're asked only to be the target of cost cutting when the company's real problems begin at the executive level. Some talents are even complaining that communication between them and management has degenerated in quality.

In addition, Pro Wrestling Report co-host David Herro recently said on the show that talents don't trust the executive vice president and don't know what road agents are doing because they themselves don't know their job titles anymore.

While communication has suffered, talents are hopeful John Gabruick, who has taken over the duties of Bruce Prichard and Kevin Sullivan, will be able to bring about positive change. Gabruick is said to be more positive than Prichard was in terms of how he talks to talents. Though a few people think Gabruick has too much on his plate to deal with considering he just started working for TNA.

The mood backstage at the TV taping of the July 18 Destination-X-themed Impact Wrestling was said to be more relaxed. This taping took place one day after Prichard was released from the company. Former WWE writer Court Bauer said during the most recent edition of MLW Radio that Prichard, when they both worked for WWE, would always try to get people with which he was cordial fired behind their backs.

What TNA Boss Told Hospitalized Jesse Sorensen, Mom

TNA President Dixie Carter assured Jesse Sorensen and his mother of something when he was in the hospital in 2012 after sustaining a neck injury.

Jason Powell said on the July 23 PWTorch.com livecast that Carter told Sorensen and his mother in the hospital that he'd have a TNA job for life. Sorensen has said Carter made him this promise.

But Carter did fight for Sorensen. Powell said Carter even stepped in and stopped Bruce Prichard, the former senior vice president of talent relations, from firing Sorensen about a year ago to save money.

Before Sorensen was released from TNA, he was working as a production assistant. Powell said Sorensen wasn't playing a vital role in production and was more of a runner. TNA kept Sorensen employed because he was injured while wrestling for the company. They wanted to take care of him.

Jerry Lawler Drove Three Hours In The Wrong Direction

0

Jerry Lawler recently drove a long way in the wrong direction.

Lawler drove northeast on the I-35 from Austin, Texas, the site of the July 22 edition of WWE Raw and where he stayed overnight, to Dallas, Texas for three hours. The problem was Lawler was supposed to drive to Laredo, Texas, which is about the same distance in the opposite direction, for a July 23 WWE Raw taping. Suffice it to say Lawler had to call WWE and ask them to arrange a flight for him so he could make it to the show on time.

Lawler was the butt of many jokes by Superstars and road agents backstage at the Laredo taping for not being able to make it to the right city after being in the wrestling business for 40 years. Michael Cole confirmed the story on Twitter late on July 23, "@JerryLawler drove 4 hours north to go 7 hours south but he made it to Laredo for #raw"
