During the August 12 edition of WWE Raw, Dean Ambrose said in a backstage promo, "I am the unbeatable champion in this industry. CM Punk is a catchphrase. I'm The Best In The World. John Cena has a trophy. But as far as I'm concerned, I'm the WWE Champion because this is the championship everyone runs from." Ambrose even implied only the ghost of Andre The Giant could beat him for the WWE U.S. Championship.
Ambrose keeps pushing the limits of what he says in promos. During the August 7 edition of Main Event, Ambrose said, "You're looking at the United States Champion, the most dominant champion in this company. May as well be the WWE champion because let's face it, I'm the man."
Maybe it's the new haircut?
