Show came to the ring as The Shield surrounded Mark Henry and RVD in the ring. RVD had just eliminated Henry to win a 20-man over-the-top battle royale for a shot at Dean Ambrose's United States Championship during the SummerSlam pre-show. WWE has been said to be planning a handicap tag team match between Show and Henry vs. The Shield at SummerSlam, though this has yet to be announced.
After Raw went off the air, Show teamed with Henry and Daniel Bryan to take on The Shield in the dark main event. On August 11, the night before, Show filled in for John Cena at an Oakland, California live event.
